The Lobster Ponds Haven in Flowerdale the only place in Australia where giant Tasmanian freshwater lobsters are kept and have been successfully bred. Some are more than 20 years old.

Take a guided or self-guided tour around the indoor tanks and outdoor ponds as you walk through rare Tasmanian flora, see critically endangered native birds, and enjoy valley views worth the detour.

Meet lobsters that are decades old. Learn about the conservation efforts keeping these extraordinary creatures alive, and why this is the only breeding sanctuary of its kind in Australia.

How It Works

Choose a guided tour or wander at your own pace.

Seeing everything takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on how long you like to wander.
